Project Overview
Emerging Art Beat 2026 expanded on the foundation of the previous edition, bringing together a wider network of emerging artists, creative practitioners, and public audiences in Melbourne. Continuing its commitment to artistic visibility and cross-cultural exchange, the exhibition explored how independent art platforms can become spaces for dialogue, participation, and community formation.

Curatorial Focus
For this edition, my curatorial focus shifted from the exhibition as a presentation platform to the relationships that form around it. I became interested in how temporary cultural platforms can create lasting forms of belonging, mutual support, and creative exchange among artists, audiences, and creative communities.
Project Overview
Project 1838: Buffer Room was a contemporary group exhibition exploring belonging under conditions of movement, migration, cultural displacement, and transition. Presented at Creative Asia Art Centre, the exhibition reimagined “home” as a fluid and evolving experience shaped through memory, sensory perception, everyday gestures, and personal adaptation.

My curatorial focus centred on the “buffer room” as a psychological and relational space — a space between staying and leaving, familiarity and dislocation, memory and adaptation. Through this project, I considered how temporary exhibition spaces can hold different experiences of transition while creating moments of dialogue, care, and connection.
Project Overview
In Between is a contemporary LGBTQIA+ group exhibition exploring identity, belonging, visibility, self-expression, and the spaces between fixed definitions. Presented at Creative Asia Art Centre, the exhibition brings together artists working across diverse media to reflect on fluidity, difference, intimacy, and the many ways of being that exist beyond social categories and expectations.
